We haven’t set a dress code. Wear what you love: we’d much rather you feel comfortable and enjoy every moment.
Indian weddings are all about wearing pieces that hold memories: the outfit you married in, your mother’s jewellery, heirlooms passed down the family. We’d love you to bring yours out and celebrate those memories with us. India has some of the world’s richest textile and craft traditions, and the courtyards of a Rajasthani haveli are the perfect place to cherish them.
We’d love this to be a sustainable celebration, so please don’t buy anything new for our sake if you don’t wish to. Re-wear, borrow, mix and match. Coming from abroad? You’re so welcome to wear your own national dress to every celebration; just let each event’s mood guide you. After all, it’s your lovely faces and warm energy that make the day, not your clothes.
What does matterLo que sí importa
Easy, comfortable outfits.Ropa fácil y cómoda. It’s an intimate celebration, more family gathering than a grand event, with lots happening each day. Choose outfits you can put on without fuss and feel comfortable in for hours, so you never miss a thing.
Shoes you can dance in for hours.Zapatos para bailar durante horas. Lawns, stone steps, a courtyard floor and a lot of dancing, so leave the heels at home. Juttis, kolhapuris and flats are your best friends.Césped, escalones de piedra, el suelo de un patio y mucho baile, así que mejor deja los tacones en casa. Juttis, kolhapuris y zapatos planos serán tus mejores amigos.
A layer for the evenings.Algo de abrigo para la noche. Days are sunny and pleasant, ~25°C, but nights can dip to ~10°C. Pack a shawl, a warm wrap or a jacket to keep you cosy after dark.
For the Indian men:Para los hombres indios: traditional wear only, please, for the Mehndi Baithak, Haldi, Sangeet and Wedding. Save Western shirts and trousers for the Celebration Night.

Mehndi Baithak
It’s an evening celebration, so deep, rich brights look wonderful. We’d love everyone, men and women, to get some henna on. It means sitting still for a while, so wear something comfortable that keeps your hands free, and juttis/flat shoes for dancing on the lawn.

Haldi
You’re about to get turmeric-bombed and showered in petals, so wear something you don’t mind getting messy: turmeric doesn’t wash out. Yellows, oranges or any bright colour you like; white works beautifully too. Keep it easy and breezy, with light jewellery and comfortable footwear by the pool.

Sangeet
India loves maximalism, and the Sangeet is where it shines. Go traditional and bling it up: anything that sparkles, from sequins to mirrorwork, on a twirling lehenga, a flowing skirt or your own national dress. Just make sure you can move in it, and wear shoes you know you can dance in for hours, not ones you’ll want to kick off after the first song.

It begins with the baraat, so wear flats you can dance in on stone. Then we all sit shoulder to shoulder on floor mattresses (gaddas) in the intimate, frescoed courtyard of a Rajasthani haveli.
- This is the day for your most traditional look: think handlooms and heirlooms. Choose something you can sit in comfortably on the floor, so nothing too bulky, and save your fullest lehenga for the Sangeet.
- Rich jewel tones look stunning against the frescoes: ruby, emerald, sapphire, amethyst, saffron, deep pink. Please don’t wear black.

Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous, Indian, Western (a suit, a dress) or anything in between, in dark colours, ideally black. Bring a wrap or a jacket; it’s cool outside after dark.

After-partyLa fiesta
It’s all about being comfortable: anything from a little black dress to your favourite jeans. Hang up your heels: it’s time to kick back and dance until the early hours. Flats/slippers strongly encouraged.
